Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) received a delegation from the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) at AFC House on Wednesday to discuss the future of football on the island nation.
One of the key objectives of the visit was to better understand the criteria of the AFC development projects available for Member Associations.
FAM President Bassam Adeel Jaleel (pictured, second right) said: “FAM has gone through a lot in the past two years and from now we want to be focused on developing the game in Maldives.
“Football is the most popular sport in Maldives and we look forward to the AFC’s assistance in raising the level of our game.”
Mr Bassam was accompanied by AFC Executive Committee Member Mohamed Shaweed as well as FAM General Secretary Hussain Jawaz.
