Iraq on course for men's semi-finals

The West Asians demonstrated their eye-catching pace and confidence, attributes which proved too much for Slovakia.

In Iraq's first match against Panama on Sunday, the posts denied them victory as they setlled for a 1-1 draw.

Against Slovakia, Iraq were in fine form with braces from Hussein Abdulrahman and Salim Kadhim, as well as a goal by Hussein Sabri, a result which saw the Asians move to the top of Group B.

Argentina and Egypt, who Iraq play next on Wednesday, drew 2-2 in their opening match.
