Kuala Lumpur: Kedah beat Selangor 6-5 on penalties on Sunday to claim their fifth Malaysia Cup title at the Shah Alam Stadium.
After a goalless first-half, Kedah's Rizal Ghazali drew first-blood in the 52nd minute, only for Ahmad Hazwan to equalise eight minutes later.
Ghazali again proved instrumental by scoring the decisive penalty shot that helped Kedah win the tournament.
Having reached the final in the last two seasons, Kedah's victory is a much welcomed triumph after last year's defeat to the very same side Selangor.
The last time Kedah lifted the trophy was in 2008.
