Jakarta: Spaniard Luis Milla was unveiled as the new head coach of Indonesia on Friday.
The 50-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the All Indonesia Football Association and replaces Austrian Alfred Riedl who left the post in December.
"This is a very important job for me,” Milla, who guided Spain to the UEFA European Under-21 Championship title in 2011, told reporters.
“After seeing the enthusiasm of the Indonesian public, I believe I can form a good team and I will work hard to achieve that.”
Milla, no stranger to Asia following a 2013 coaching stint with United Arab Emirates side Al Jazira, enjoyed a glittering playing career with Spanish heavyweights Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia.
