Ho Chi Minh: Myanmar finished as third-place winners in the AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship for the ASEAN region after whipping bottom finishers Malaysia 6-0 in their final match at Thong Nhat Stadium on Sunday.
Skipper Khine Thazin Phoo and July Kyaw scored a brace each with Thinzar Cho and Khine Thazin Oo contributing a goal each for Zin Mar Wann’s Myanmar side.
Myanmar, who accumulated 10 points from three wins out of five matches, leapfrogged the Philippines to the third-place finishing.
Zhang Hong’s Malaysians were perennially at the bottom of the six-nation table and managed to get one point from their draw with Cambodia in the fourth round of the campaign.
