Kuwait City: Oman saved their best for last while the United Arab Emirates got the point they needed as both advanced to the 2017 Gulf Cup semi-finals on Thursday.
Oman beat Saudi Arabia 2-0 at the Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium to seal top spot in Group A.
Saeed Al Rizaqi was the Oman hero as he scored both goals for his team, which meant FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia bound Saudi Arabia were knocked out.
Al Rizaqi's first goal had a dose of luck as his effort deflected off Saudi Arabia's Khaled Abdul Baki and settled in the back of the net in the 58th minute.
Al Rizaqi scored his second goal in the 77th minute as Oman overcame their opening day 1-0 loss to the UAE to seal top spot in the group. They had defeated hosts Kuwait 1-0 in their second match.
