Syria’s Jehad Al Hussien calls time on career

Buraydah: Former Syria international midfielder Jehad Al Hussien has retired, his club Al Raed announced on Saturday.

The 38-year-old midfielder, who moved to Al Raed last year, will be joining the technical staff of the club as an assistant coach to Albanian coach Besnik Hasi.

October 24 marks 10 years to the day since the AFC U-16 Championship kicked off in Uzbekistan, where a number of today's biggest stars turned out for their countries as they took the early steps in what have turned out to be fruitful careers.

Argentina's Vietto completes move to Al Hilal 

Riyadh: Al Hilal SFC have acquired the services of Argentine forward Luciano Vietto, the defending Saudi Pro League champions announced on Saturday.

The 26-year-old winger, nicknamed ‘Zorro’, joins 2019 AFC Champions League winners Al Hilal from Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon after signing a three-year contract just hours before the closing of the summer transfer window in Saudi Arabia.

Agrinio: Young Islamic Republic of Iran striker Mohammad Reza Azadi has signed a three-year contract with Greek Super League side Panetolikos.

The 21-year-old has joined Panetolikos from Iran Pro League side Tractor, where he spent three seasons.

Son Heung-min deserves bumper Spurs deal, says Mourinho

London: Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho said on Friday that expects Son Heung-min to be handed a lucrative new long-term contract "sooner or later" after the Korea Republic star's blistering start to the season.

The 28-year-old forward, whose current deal expires in 2023, is reportedly in discussions over a bumper new deal at the Premier League club.

Son has scored nine goals in eight games this season and has also provided four assists, teaming up with Harry Kane to devastating effect.
