Kuwait, India book semi-final spots

Bengaluru: Kuwait and India advanced to the semi-finals of the 2023 SAFF Championship after registering their second consecutive wins on Saturday.

Kuwait defeated Pakistan 4-0 while India beat Nepal 2-0 with the West Asian side, with a superior goal advantage, only needing a draw when the teams meet on Tuesday to top the group.

Pathum Thani:  Thailand will face arguably their sternest test of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 to date when they take on Korea Republic in the quarter-finals on Sunday. 

It is only the third time that the hosts have made it to the knockout stage in 12 tournament appearances and their first since 1998, when they won their sole title.
 
Their opponents, on the other hand, have progressed from the group stage for the 10th time in 15 involvements, going on to lift the trophy in 1986 and 2002.

Pathum Thani: Islamic Republic of Iran and Yemen will both not hold back when they face-off in their AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 quarter-final at the Thammasat Stadium on Sunday.

Iran, the AFC U-16 Championship winners in 2008, will be aiming to reach their first final since finishing runners-up in 2016, while Yemen have advanced to the knockout stage for the first time since finishing second in 2002.

A goal from Shodiyor Shodiboev in the 24th minute clinched three points and second place in Group D at the Thammasat Stadium, which confirmed their seventh knockout stage qualification in their 10th tournament appearance.
