A first as Malaysia’s Kogileswaran Raj joins Chungbuk Cheongju

Kuala Lumpur: Kogileswaran Raj has become the first Malaysian to play professional football in Korea Republic after penning a deal with K-League 2 club Chungbuk Cheongju on Thursday.

The former Petaling Jaya City striker signed a one-year contract with the Cheongju side.

Zurich: Australia captain Sam Kerr has been nominated for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022.

Also nominated is Kerr's compatriot Alou Kuol, who is in the running for the Puskas Award for best goal of the calendar year.
 
Kerr's nomination for the Best Fifa Women's Player does not come as a surprise after yet another stellar year for club and country.

Hopefuls discover Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1 opponents

Kuala Lumpur: The path has been set for the 26 teams competing in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1, following the conclusion of the draw at the AFC House on Thursday. 

Round 1 of the Asian Qualifiers will be divided into five groups of four and two groups of three, with teams competing in a one-round league format in a centralised venue from April 3 to 11.
 
The hosts for the groups will be announced in due course.

Cup of Nations to help Australia prepare for Women's World Cup

Sydney: Australia will host the Cup of Nations on February 16-22 as part of their preparations for the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.

The four-team tournament - also featuring fellow FIFA Women's World Cup qualifiers Spain and Jamaica, as well as Czechia, will be played in Gosford, Sydney, and Newcastle.
