Despite starting their qualifiers with a 4-1 loss to IR Iran, Jordan got back at Team Melli by winning the return leg in Amman 3-2 and then cruising to victories in their remaining fixtures against Lebanon and DPR Korea to confirm they would be making their AFC Asian Cup debut in China PR.

Kuala Lumpur: It has been nearly six decades since Korea Republic won the AFC Asian Cup back in 1960. The-AFC.com takes a trip down memory lane to revisit the Taeguk Warriors' most notable moments in the competition since then.
They may be the only Asian nation to reach the semi-final of a FIFA World Cup, and they may have participated in the tournament more than any other Asian side, but on the continental stage, Korea Republic have struggled to reach similar heights in recent times.
In the past 59 years Korea Republic have reached the AFC Asian Cup semi-finals on eight occasions and the final in four, yet Asia's most prestigious trophy remained elusive.

Seoul: Korea Republic on Friday appointed former Portugal boss Paulo Bento as the new head coach for the men's national football team.
Kim Pan-gon, who heads the Korea Football Association's (KFA) national team coach appointment committee, said Bento will lead Korea Republic through the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 49-year-old Portuguese will succeed Shin Tae-yong, who handled Korea Republic at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

Brisbane: Australia will host Korea Republic in an international friendly at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on November 17, the Football Federation of Australia announced on Tuesday.
"It is fantastic that the first match that the Socceroos play on home soil under new Head Coach Graham Arnold is against Korea Republic in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium," said FFA CEO David Gallop.
“The last time these two teams met in the Final of the AFC Asian Cup in 2015 was a spectacular event that will long live in the memory of all who watched it.
“With the next AFC Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) only five months away, matches like this are a crucial component of tournament preparation and all players will be looking to impress Graham.
“I would like to thank the Queensland Government, Brisbane City Council and Suncorp Stadium for their support for hosting this match in Brisbane,” concluded Gallop.

Dubai: The enthralling build-up to Asia’s most prestigious football spectacle will reach new heights when a star-studded, action packed AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Interactive Roadshow debuts on August 26 at Dubai Mall — the first of many activations across all four host cities: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Sharjah.
Adding to the excitement of the biggest sporting event ever to be held in the UAE, there will also be a memorable photo opportunity with the dazzling new AFC Asian Cup trophy, which will be on display throughout the opening day. In addition, the first 50 attendees at the Interactive Roadshow will receive complimentary match tickets for the highly-anticipated tournament.
The six-day event will take place in the Star Atrium in one of the world’s biggest shopping malls, Dubai Mall, which is big enough to fit 189 football pitches. While free to all during the August 26th debut and 31st August closing day, a nominal entry fee of Dh25 will be in place on subsequent days, which will include a match ticket to the 24-nation tournament in January.
The Interactive Roadshow present passionate fans an opportunity to learn, play, show off their skills and engage with cutting-edge VR technology in three distinct zones of engagement: The Virtual Zone, The Skills Zone and The Victory Zone.
Throughout each of the Interactive Roadshow days, the Virtual Zone will educate fans about Asia’s finest stars and the proud history of the AFC Asian Cup, bringing visitors on a thrilling journey across the UAE host cities using cutting-edge VR headsets. The Skills Zone will welcome fans of all abilities, enabling them to pit their skills in a series of accelerating challenges in a football simulator.
The Victory Zone features multiple interactive games that allow visitors to ignite their passion through augmented reality by running, cheering or acting as a spokesperson on behalf of their favorite team.
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Tournament Director of the Local Organizing Committee said: “Through the power of sport, we want to connect communities and these Interactive Roadshows are the perfect way to deliver the excitement and energy of the AFC Asian Cup to people across the UAE.
