Kuala Lumpur: Islamic Republic of Iran were peerless as they lifted the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Thailand 2024 title in commanding fashion.

It was a record extending 13th title for Iran while Tajikistan and Afghanistan created history of their own by qualifying for maiden appearances at the FIFA Futsal World Cup.

Oiwa continues as Japan U23 head coach, Nielsen takes charge of Nadeshiko

Kuala Lumpur: Reigning AFC Coach of the Year Go Oiwa will continue to lead Japan’s U23 team for the next four years while Denmark’s Nils Nielsen has been named the country’s new women’s national team head coach, the Japan Football Association has announced.

Oiwa, who was named the continent’s top coach after steering Japan to the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ title earlier this year, has extended his contract until the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
