Afghanistan confirm Uzbekistan 2024 ticket

Bangkok: Afghanistan booked their ticket to the FIFA Futsal World Cup Uzbekistan 2024 after defeating Kyrgyz Republic 5-3 in their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Thailand™ 2024 Playoff 3 on Sunday.

It will be Afghanistan’s first appearance at the FIFA Futsal World Cup, joining Islamic Republic of Iran, Tajikistan, Thailand and hosts Uzbekistan at the September 14-October 6 tournament.

Bangkok: Islamic Republic of Iran waltzed their way to a record-extending 13th title with a 4-1 win over Thailand in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Thailand 2024 final on Sunday. 

Iran seized control from the start at the Bangkok Arena to deny Thailand a maiden title as the Central Asian side made up for losing to Japan in the decider of the 2022 edition.

Bangkok: Islamic Republic of Iran's Saeid Ahmad Abbasi’s dazzling performances saw him named the Most Valuable Player and win the Yili Top Scorer Award at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Thailand™ 2024 on Sunday.

The forward, with eight goals and one assist, edged compatriot Mahdi Karimi (five goals), Iraq’s Salim Faisal (five goals) and Tareq Zeyad on four goals for the Yili Top Scorer award.

Bangkok: Uzbekistan defeated Tajikistan 3-1 on penalties to finish third in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Thailand 2024 on Sunday.

A thrilling playoff at the Bangkok Arena saw the match ending 5-5, with Uzbekistan proving more clinical in the penalty shootout. 
 
Tajikistan, however, can walk tall after not only achieving their best ever finish but also qualifying for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Uzbekistan 2024.
