Qualifiers - Group A: Syria 3-1 Jordan; DPR Korea 8-2 Hong Kong, China

Zarqa: DPR Korea produced an awesome display of attacking football to kick off their AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 Qualifiers Group A campaign with an 8-2 win over Hong Kong, China at the Prince Mohammad Stadium on Saturday.

Syria, meanwhile, turned on the power in the second half to defeat Jordan 3-1 in the earlier Group A tie.

#AFCU17 Qualifiers - MD1: Results & Reports

Kuala Lumpur: DPR Korea and the Philippines were the big winners on Matchday One of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2025 Qualifiers on Saturday.

The big victories propelled both sides to the top of their respective groups as the journey to reach the Finals began in earnest.

The hopefuls have been split into 10 groups – six of four, one of three and three of five – to battle in a centralised league format, which runs until October 27.

All group winners, along with the five best-placed runners-up, will progress to the 20th edition of the Finals, with two-time winners Saudi Arabia (1985, 1988) automatically qualifying as they host the tournament for the second time after 1992.
