Group A: Thailand 2-1 Laos

Pathum Thani: A strike late into added time gave Thailand a dramatic 2-1 win against Laos in Group A of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 on Thursday.

Chanothai Kongmeng struck in the 95th minute to break Laotian hearts and secure all three points for the Thais in front of a partisan home crowd.

Group A: Yemen 4-0 Malaysia

Pathum Thani: Yemen cruised to an opening 4-0 win over Malaysia in Group A of the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 on Thursday. 

First half goals from Abdulrahman Al Khadher and Adel Qasem laid the foundation for Yemen to earn the three points, with Anwar Al Turaiqi adding the third before Malaysia’s Adib Ibrahim Adnan scored an own goal for the emphatic win.

Chonburi: Australia and Saudi Arabia, who qualified for the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 by scoring a combined 59 goals in the Qualifiers, will kick off the Group C proceedings at the Chonburi Uta Stadium on Friday.

Two-time champions of the AFC U-16 Championship, Saudi Arabia scored 19 goals and conceded two in their four qualifying matches. Three-time semi-finalists Australia, on the other hand, hit home a whopping 36 goals and conceded only one in three matches to emerge the top scorers of the Qualifiers.

The Johor Darul Ta'zim star received 63% percent of the votes from fans, with the goal helping the Malaysian champions record a famous 2-1 win over their Korean rivals.
