Bangkok: A commanding display from the Islamic Republic of Iran saw them get off to a winning start at the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 after putting six goals past Afghanistan on Friday.

The 6-1 result was a statement of intent from the 2008 champions, who outclassed opponents making only their second ever appearance in the competition.
