Hanoi: Australia were at their best, defeating DPR Korea 4-1 in their AFC U-19 Championship 2018 Qualifiers to seal top spot in Group J at the National Youth Football Training Centre in Hanoi on Wednesday.
In a winner-takes-all clash, Australia went on the offensive from the start and their hard work was rewarded as early as the 19th minute when midfielder Fabian Monge found the back of the net.
DPR Korea, who had beaten Hong Kong 5-1 in their opening match, tried to find their way back into the game but Australia kept a firm hold.
Ufuk Talay's players widened their lead in the 26th minute, thanks to striker Moudi Najjar (pictured above) and at half time, DPR Korea were facing a huge task.
