Hanoi: Vietnam U-19 national team head coach Hoang Anh Tuan has called up 24 players for the first of three training camps ahead of October's AFC U-19 Championship in Indonesia.
The 50-year-old mentor - who led the Southeast Asian nation to a historic semi-final appearance at the 2016 championship - is leaving no stone unturned in an extensive preparation for this year's Finals, with camps arranged in Vietnam, Japan and Qatar.
The squad will travel to Nghe An Province for a fitness focused nine-day camp on Saturday, before spending 12 days in Japan from August 28.
That will be followed by a journey to Qatar where the side will face the hosts as well as 2017 South American Youth Football Championship winners Uruguay in a tournament which will provide vital match preparation ahead of the October Finals.

Jakarta: Now that the draw is done and Indonesia know their opponents for the AFC U-19 Championship 2018, head coach Indra Sjafri wants to get down to the business of thoroughly preparing his squad.
Hosts Indonesia will be facing two former champions - 2008 winners United Arab Emirates and Qatar (2014), alongside Chinese Taipei, in Group A of the tournament which will be held on October 18-November 4.
“After knowing the draw results, we can start preparing the team to be more focused,” said Sjafri.
