AFC U20 ASIAN CUP CHINA 2025™ PREDICT THE CHAMPIONS & KNOCKOUT STAGE PREDICTOR TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read these terms and conditions for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2025™ Predict the Champions & Knockout Stage Predictor prediction contest (“Contest”) prior to participating (the “Contest Terms”).  

 

By participating in the Contest, you hereby agree to be bound by these Contest Terms (and any amendments thereof) and represent and warrant that you satisfy all the eligibility requirements set out herein. 

 

This Contest is organised by the Asian Football Confederation (“AFC”) in conjunction with the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2025™ (“Competition”). Any queries relating to the Contest shall be directed to the AFC only at asiancup.contest@the-afc.com. 

1.1. Entry to the Contest is open to all individuals (each, a “Participant”), however any Participant below eighteen (18) years of age as of 7 February 2025 confirms that he/she has obtained  the consent of their respective parent/guardian to participate in this Contest. The AFC reserves the right to verify such consent from the respective parent/guardian at any time. Participants should be aware that a breach of this consent requirement (where applicable) will result in the Participant being automatically disqualified. 

1.2. Directors, officers, employees and committee members of the AFC, its commercial partners, agents, external service providers (related to this Contest) and immediate families of each respective party are not eligible to participate in the Contest. 

1.3. The Contest is open to parties who reside in countries where entry in prize competitions of the nature set out herein is not a breach of their respective local laws. 

 

2.1. To participate in the Contest, Participants are required to register an account at https://the-afc.com/u20ac_predictthechampions  

or on the AFC Live App, with such information as may be required by the AFC, including the following (each such registration, an “Account”): 

(a) first and last name; 

(b) email address; 

(c) date of birth; 

(d) place of residence; and 

(e) such other information as requested by the AFC.  

2.2. Each Participant shall only be allowed to participate once, using only one (1) registration Account. The AFC reserves the right to disqualify a Participant if it is found that the Participants are the same individual who has participated multiple times using multiple different Accounts.  

2.3. All details provided by the Participants during registration must be true, accurate and complete.  

2.4. The use of third-party data, names or nicknames which are considered indecent and/or offensive is strictly prohibited. 

2.5. Participants shall be solely responsible for all activities conducted on their respective Account and shall ensure that all Account details are kept confidential to avoid misuse or abuse by any third parties. 

3.1. The Contest shall be organised from 17:00, 7 February 2025 to 16:00, 22 February 2025 in accordance with Malaysia Time (GMT+8). (“Contest Period”). 

3.2. The Contest will be split into two (2) phases (each a “Phase”) with Phase 1: AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2025 Predict The Champions commencing for a period of six (6) days from 17:00, 1 February 2025 to 13:59, 12 February 2025  Malaysia Time (GMT+8). Phase 2: AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2025™ Knockout Stage Predictor will commence for a period of two (2) days from 17:00, 20 February 2025 to 16:00, 22 February 2025  Malaysia Time (GMT+8). 

3.3. Participants may register by creating an Account at any time during the Contest Period.

5.1. There will be a total of (2) winners in this Contest, with one (1) winner from each Phase (each a “Winner”): 

5.2. If two (2) or more Participants are eligible to be declared a Winner for either Phase 1 or Phase 2 based on the criteria set out in Clause 5.1 and Clause 5.2 above, then the Participant who has completed the Account registration process earlier during the Contest Period will be selected as the sole Winner for the relevant Phase. 

5.3. The AFC reserves the right to select the Winner based on the ranking criteria set out in Clause 5.1 and Clause 5.2 above. The decision of the AFC will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into with any Participants in this regard. Should the Entries in any category fall below the standard required by the Contest, then the AFC reserves the right not to declare any Winner. 

5.4. The Winner will be contacted by the AFC by email, on the email address submitted as part of the Account registration process.  

5.5. The AFC reserves the right to declare additional winners of the Contest based on the ranking criteria set out in Clause 5 and award such additional winners such prizes as the AFC may determine in its sole discretion. The AFC’s decision in this regard shall be final and binding on all Participants. 

5.6. Winners will be announced by the AFC in its discretion following the conclusion of the Contest Period. 

 

 

6.1. Each Winner will be awarded one (1) gift card of US$300 value as determined by the AFC in its sole discretion (the “Prize”). 

6.2. To claim the Prize, the Winner will be responsible for sharing their correct address and contact information with the AFC once contacted by the AFC’s representatives. 

6.3. The Winner shall be responsible for any local taxes and any other expenses relating to the Prize not specifically mentioned herein, including any travel and accommodation expenses to the match. The Prize shall not be transferable or redeemable for cash.  

6.4. No substitution of the Prize shall be allowed except that the AFC may, at its sole discretion, substitute any element of the Prize at any time.  

6.5. The Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. 

6.6 The Prize has to be validly claimed by the Winner within seven (7) days from when the AFC contacts such Winner (as described in Clause 5.4), after which the Prize will be forfeited, or at the AFC’s discretion, an alternate winner will be selected. 

 

7.1. The AFC may share your personal data with affiliates of the AFC or with other third parties for administrative and/or business purposes. This may involve the storage, use, disclosure or other processing, or transfer of your personal data out of Malaysia or within Malaysia. Third parties receiving your personal data will be bound by requirements under the applicable Personal Data Protection legislation.  

7.2. By participating in this Contest, you hereby consent to: (a) the collection, use, disclosure, transfer, and processing of your personal data for the purposes of administering the Contest and selecting the Winner; (b) the AFC’s privacy policy (available at https://assets.the-afc.com/Misc/Privacy-Policy-for-the-AFC.com-and-AFC-Live-App.pdf and the AFC’s Personal Data Protection Notice (PDPA) (available at: https://assets.the-afc.com/Misc/AFC_PDPA.pdf and (c) the AFC’s terms of service (available at https://www.the-afc.com/en/legal/terms__conditions.html).  

 

8.1. By entering the Contest, each Participant agrees to be bound by these Contest Terms and by decisions of the AFC, which are final and binding as to all Contest-related matters.  

8.2. By entering this Contest and/or accepting any Prize you may win, you agree that: (a) you have all rights, permissions and consents necessary to grant the rights to AFC as expressed herein; (b) you will abide by and be bound by the Contest Terms and the AFC’s decision and any policies in relation thereto; (c) you release and hold harmless the AFC, its commercial agents and suppliers, and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents or representatives from any and all liability for claims, injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including without limitation, death and bodily injury, resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from your entry submission, the awarding, delivery, acceptance, use, misuse, possession, loss or misdirection of any Prize; participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity or from any interaction with, or downloading of, computer Contest information. 

8.3. Prize(s) are awarded on an ‘as is’ basis and shall be without warranty of any kind, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) and the AFC does not make any representation, warranty, or guarantee, express or implied, relating to the Contest or the Prize.  

8.4. A Winner’s acceptance of a Prize constitutes the grant to AFC of an unconditional right to use, and authorise the AFC’s commercial partners to use, the Winner's name, profile, image, voice, likeness, photograph, biographical and prize information and/or statements about the Contest for any programming, publicity, advertising, and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where it is prohibited by law. 

8.5. In the event of circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the AFC such as without limitation viruses, bugs, unauthorised human intervention, acts of God, acts or regulations of any governmental or supra-national authority, war, national emergency, accident, fire, riot, strikes, lock-outs, industrial disputes, acts of terrorism, pandemic, epidemic, situations beyond control that would affect the security, fairness or proper play of the Contest, so that it cannot be conducted as originally planned, except where prohibited by law, the AFC has the right, in its sole discretion, to modify these Contest Terms or to cancel, modify, terminate or suspend the Contest; and in such event, to select the Winner by such method as the AFC may in its sole discretion consider equitable.  

8.6. By participating in the Contest, each Participant agrees that: (a) the AFC shall not be responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Contest, including without limitation any errors in the advertising, Contest Terms, selection of the Winner, and distribution of the Prize; (b) any portion of any Prize not accepted or used by a Winner will be forfeited; (c) the AFC  is not responsible for any inability of a Winner to accept or use a Prize (or any portion thereof) for any reason; and (d) the AFC shall not be liable financially in any aspect to the Winner and the Participants. The Participant also agrees that they shall not make the following statements regarding the AFC and/or the contest: (a) make inappropriate, illegal or offensive statements regarding the AFC and/or the Contest, (b) make religiously, culturally or politically insensitive statements, (c) defamatory or libellous statement, and (d) statements likely to tarnish the image and reputation of the AFC, its competition and stakeholders. 

8.7. The AFC has the right, at any time and at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it suspects to be doing any of the following: (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or the Application; (b) violating the Contest Terms; (c) violating the terms of service or other terms, conditions of use and/or general rules or guidelines of any AFC website, property or service; (d) acting in an unsportsmanlike, unethical or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person or (e) for any other good cause as determined solely by the AFC. 

8.8. As any attempt by any individual to damage the application or undermine the legitimate operations of this Contest or the application is a violation of these Contest Terms as well as criminal and civil laws, and should the AFC believe or become aware that such an attempt has been, is being, or will be made, it has the right to seek remedies and damages from any responsible individuals to the fullest extent permitted by law, including without limitation criminal prosecution. 

8.9. All disputes, claims and causes of action at law or in equity (individually, “Claim”) arising out of or relating to this Contest, the meaning or interpretation of the Rules or any prize awarded shall be resolved by applying the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict of laws provisions therein, and shall be solely and exclusively brought in the state or federal courts within Malaysia. 

8.10. All claims shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event include attorneys’ fees, and under no circumstances will any participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses and waives all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. 

8.11. The AFC has the right to modify Prize award procedures at its sole discretion and shall not be responsible for the cancellation, postponement, or unavailability of any Prize, and if such occurs, the Prize may be substituted with an alternate prize (as determined by the AFC in its sole discretion). 

8.12. The AFC is not responsible for any changes to any function that may interfere with the Contest or your ability to timely participate in the same. 

8.13. The AFC is not responsible for any failure of delivery of Winner notification. 

8.14. The AFC reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion and without prior notice to: (a) to cancel, modify, suspend or delay the Contest; (b) to make changes to these Contest Terms, whereupon all Participants be bound by the terms and conditions as varied by the AFC; and/or (c) to substitute, withdraw or cancel any Prize without disclosing any reason thereof and without any payment or compensation whatsoever.  

8.15. All Participants agree to be bound by these Contest Terms and by the decisions of the AFC, which are final and binding in all respects.  

8.16. The AFC reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that it determines is tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, engaging in any conduct that is deemed detrimental or unfair to the AFC, the Contest or any other participant, acting in breach or potential breach of these Contest Terms and/or the AFC’s website use and access agreement, or is otherwise ineligible to enter or participate in the Contest. No correspondence and/or objection will be entertained.  

8.17. These Contest Terms have been prepared in the English language, which language shall govern the interpretation and construction of these Contest Terms. Any translation of these Contest Terms shall be for reference purposes only, and the English language version shall always prevail in the case of any inconsistencies between the English language version and any translations thereof. 

8.18 This Contest is governed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
