Tashkent: Midfielder Hamed Al Ghamdi says Saudi Arabia are determined to win the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022 title for head coach Saad Al Shehri.

Hussain Al Eisa and Ayman Yahya scored as Saudi Arabia defeated Australia 2-0 on Wednesday to seal their place in the final against Uzbekistan.

Goals from Hussain Al Eisa and Ayman Yahya took Saudi Arabia within touching distance of winning the AFC U23 Asian Cup crown for the first time.

Tashkent: Trevor Morgan was left to rue a missed opportunity after Australia fell to a 2-0 defeat against Saudi Arabia in the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022 semi-finals on Wednesday.

The Olyroos went into the last four tie at the Pakhtakor Stadium aiming to make the final for the first time but had to concede defeat to Saudi Arabia, who scored through Hussain Al Eisa and Ayman Yahya to seal a second successive appearance in the decider.

Making things worse for Australia was Jay Rich-Baghuelo’s sending off in the 39th minute, with Saudi Arabia leading 1-0 at that stage.
