Kunshan: Ravshan Khaydarov has given his squad a clean bill of health as Uzbekistan begin the final preparations for their AFC U23 Championship 2018 semi-final clash with Korea Republic on Tuesday.
Khaydarov’s team go into the last four meeting with Kim Bong-gil’s side having demolished Japan in the quarter-finals and the coach is confident his team will be ready for their test along the road to the title.
“We don’t have any problems in the squad,” he said. “All the players are ready for tomorrow’s match. Physically, tactically and mentally we are ready and I hope tomorrow we will show our best football in the game.
“Uzbekistan and Korea have already played four games in this tournament and we have the same condition because after four games some players are tired or have some problems, but our staff are working on it now. We have the same condition at the moment.”

Kunshan: Goal scorer Cho Jae-wan feared his early strike against Malaysia might backfire on him and his teammates before Korea Republic eventually saw off Ong Kim Swee’s side to book their place in the semi-finals of the AFC U23 Championship 2018 on Saturday.
Cho scored with less than 12 seconds on the clock to record the fastest goal of the tournament so far, but the Koreans still needed Han Seung-gyu’s 85th minute winner to see off the determined Southeast Asians.
“We thought it would be an easy game because we scored after less than a minute,” said the Seoul E-Land midfielder.
“Maybe we thought it would be too easy and that was a problem for us, but we’ve gained a lot of energy from the victory itself and we plan to prepare well for the next game so we can do well.”

Jiangyin: Jasurbek Yakhshiboev expressed delight after Uzbekistan beat 2016 champions Japan on Friday to secure a spot in the AFC U23 Championship China 2018 semi-finals.
Uzbekistan enjoyed a three-goal advantage in the first half, and Yakhshiboev secured the win with his second of the match in the 47th minute to knock the young Samurai Blue out of the tournament with a 4-0 win.
Japan and Qatar were the only teams to progress from the group stage with a perfect record, and going into the quarter-final tie, the 20-year-old midfielder was more than aware of the task that lay ahead for Uzbekistan.
