Foshan: China PR completed a perfect week, beating Colombia 2-0 to lift the trophy, while Thailand claimed bragging rights against neighbours Vietnam as the curtains came down on the CFA Four Nations Tournament in Guangdong Province.

COLOMBIA 0
A delightful free-kick from the brilliant Wang Shuang, and a Ren Guixin tap-in, helped Siggi Eyjolfsson to his first piece of silverware as China PR head coach, as the eight-time Asian champions proved too strong for Colombia.
The Steel Roses took charge from the off, testing Colombian goalkeeper Sandra Sepulveda on a number of occasions before Wang rattled the crossbar with a free-kick in the 19th minute.
It was another Wang free-kick that broke the deadlock, when the star midfielder curled the ball beyond the motionless Sepulveda and into the net with her left foot from 20 metres just prior to half-time.

Foshan: China PR narrowly defeated AFC Women’s Asian Cup rivals Thailand to move within touching distance of winning the competition, while Vietnam were beaten by Colombia on the second Matchday of the CFA Four Nations tournament on Sunday.

THAILAND 1 (Kanjana Sung-Ngoen 21’)
A Wang Shanshan header and a Ren Guixin penalty helped Siggi Eyjolfsson’s side overcome the concession of an early goal to stretch their international winning streak to three matches with a 2-1 win against Thailand.
The hard-fought win means the Steel Roses will retain their Four Nations title simply by avoiding defeat against Colombia in the final match of the tournament on Tuesday evening.
In a precursor to the opening match of April’s AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Amman, Thailand – who had never beaten China at senior level – took a surprise lead in the 21st minute, when Kanjana Sung-Ngeon popped up to score her second goal in as many matches in Foshan.
Latching onto Waraporn Boonsing’s long kick, Kanjana punished a defensive error by Chinese captain Ma Jun by delightfully lobbing the ball over 19-year-old goalkeeper Peng Shimeng and into the net.

Foshan: Hosts China PR found the net four times against Vietnam, while Thailand earned a point against Colombia in an entertaining opening day of action at the CFA Four Nations tournament on Friday.
CHINA PR 4 (Jin Kun 25’, Wang Shanshan 47’, Wang Shuang 60’, Song Duan 84’)
VIETNAM 0
China PR issued an early warning ahead of April’s AFC Women’s Asian Cup, overcoming fellow Jordan 2018 qualifiers Vietnam with a convincing 4-0 win at the Century Lotus Stadium.
2017 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship star Jin Kun showed her quality at senior level to open the scoring, while Wang Shanshan, Wang Shuang and Song Duan added second half goals as the hosts cruised to victory.
It was a night to forget for Vietnam, whose star goalkeeper and captain Dang Thi Kieu Trinh was sent off before half-time as Mai Duc Chung’s side slumped to their first defeat since 2016.
China, who piled on eight goals against Vietnam in the corresponding tournament two years ago, took control of the game from the outset, but the visitors survived the opening exchanges without conceding, and gave the Chinese defence a moment of panic through a corner kick in the 22 nd minute.

Chicago: Sam Kerr is set to join the Chicago Red Stars after a three-way trade involving American star Carli Lloyd saw the NWSL side acquire the 2017 AFC Women’s Player of the Year.
The prolific Australian, along with Sky Blue FC teammate Nikki Stanton, will join the Red Stars, while 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Golden Ball winner Lloyd will shift to the New Jersey-based Sky Blue from Houston Dash.
The complicated deal also includes a move for US women’s national team star Christen Press, who will swap Chicago for Houston.
