Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers are just days away with the January 11-19 action to decide the nine teams who will join Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan and China PR in the Finals.

As we gear up for the action to start, the-AFC.com revisits the 2018 edition that was held in Bangkok, Thailand where the number of teams nearly doubled to 15 with Iran defending their title.

#WACFutsal: 2015 revisited

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup™ returns after a lapse of six years with the China 2025 Qualifiers on January 11-19 to set the tone for Finals which will be played in May.

Thirteen nations will be vying for nine spots, with Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan and China PR having already confirmed their respective tickets to the Finals.

As we gear up for the Qualifiers, the-AFC.com takes a look back to when it all started in 2015 when the inaugural championship took place in Nilai, Malaysia with Iran crowned as the champions.

Moon Seon-min moves to FC Seoul

Seoul: Korea Republic international winger Moon Seon-min has left Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors to join rivals FC Seoul after completing his contract with the nine-time K League champions.

The departure of the 32-year-old, who won the K League title with Jeonbuk in 2019 and 2021, comes after fellow Korea Republic international Kim Jin-su also left the club to sign for the capital club.

#AWCL draw to set up Knockout Stage battles

Kuala Lumpur: The inaugural AFC Women’s Champions League™ season will mark another milestone on Wednesday, January 8 when the official draw ceremony for the Knockout Stage takes place at 3pm at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur.

Eight teams are still standing in the 2024/25 campaign, which kicked off last August with the Preliminary Stage and subsequently concluded the Group Stage in October.
