Kumagai to leave Bayern

Munich: Former AFC Women’s Player of the Year Saki Kumagai has confirmed she will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the current season.

The 32-year-old, who was crowned Asia’s leading female player in 2019, revealed on social media that she planned to leave the Bavarian outfit following Sunday’s game against Potsdam after two seasons with the club.

Nematjonov double sees Uzbekistan through to last 16

Furuhashi earns recall to Japan squad

Tokyo: Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi has been recalled by Hajime Moriyasu for Japan’s upcoming friendly matches against El Salvador and Peru next month.

The former Vissel Kobe forward, who was named Scottish Premiership Player of the Year last week after a league title-winning season with the Glasgow-based club, is included in the 26-man squad for the first time since September.

Groups finalised for #AFCU23 Qatar 2024 Qualifiers

Kuala Lumpur: The draw for the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Qatar 2024 Qualifiers was finalised at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The hopefuls were divided into 11 groups – 10 groups of four teams each, with the last group containing three. Qatar, meanwhile, will play in the Qualifiers for exposure with their matches classified as friendlies.
