Qualifiers Group E: Philippines 4-0 Pakistan; Hong Kong 3-0 Tajikistan

Hisor: Philippines and Hong Kong flexed their muscles as they opened their Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 1 Group E campaigns with convincing victories over Pakistan and Tajikistan respectively on Wednesday.

Philippines impressed from start to finish with goals coming from Hali Long, Eva Madarang, Sarina Bolden and Chandler McDaniel, while Hong Kong put three past Tajikistan.

Qualifiers Group A: Uzbekistan 9-0 Bhutan; Jordan 3-1 Timor Leste

Tashkent: Uzbekistan and Jordan kicked off their Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 1 Group A campaigns with impressive wins on Wednesday.

Hosts Uzbekistan defeated Bhutan 9-0 while Jordan were also untroubled in their 3-1 win over Timor-Leste.

Qualifiers Group B: IR Iran 1-0 Myanmar

Yangon: Islamic Republic of Iran edged Myanmar 1-0 in their Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1 Group B opener on Wednesday.

After a goalless first half, Iran scored seven minutes into the restart at the Thuwunna Stadium.

Qualifiers Group D: Mongolia 2-2 Singapore

Chonburi: Mongolia scored deep into added time to hold Singapore 2-2 in Group D of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 1 on Tuesday.

The stalemate means Singapore, having lost 6-0 to Thailand in their opener, are eliminated while Mongolia will advance with a win over the Thais on Friday.

Bishkek: India were at their best as they opened their Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 1 Group G campaign with a 5-0 win over Kyrgyz Republic on Tuesday.

The win at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek places India in a comfortable position to advance to the second round of the Qualifiers, with the sides to meet again on Friday in the two-team group.

Asian hopefuls set for challenging tests in friendlies

Kuala Lumpur: Four of Asia's six FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 representatives will test themselves in friendlies against quality opposition in the coming days.

While Philippines and Vietnam are involved in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 1, Australia, China PR, Japan and Korea Republic will each play two friendlies as they continue preparing for the July-August global showpiece.
