Qualifiers Round 2 cast finalised

Kuala Lumpur: Another three teams advanced as Round 1 of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers concluded on Tuesday.

The seven Round 1 group winners - Uzbekistan (Group A), Islamic Republic of Iran (Group B), Vietnam (Group C), Thailand (Group D), Philippines (Group E), Chinese Taipei (Group F) and India (Group G) will now join the five highest seeded teams - DPR Korea, Japan, Australia, China PR and Korea Republic in Round 2 which will be divided into three groups. 
 
Four teams - the three group winners and the best-ranked runners-up - will then progress to Round 3 to play two pairs of home and away matches with the eventual winners qualifying for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024.

Qualifiers Group A: Uzbekistan advance in emphatic fashion

Tashkent: Uzbekistan defeated Jordan 7-0 to top Group A of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1 on Tuesday.

The win meant Uzbekistan concluded their campaign with a perfect record of three wins as they booked their place in Round 2 of the Qualifiers..
 
Bhutan, meanwhile, finished second after a 3-1 win over Timor-Leste.

Qualifiers - Group E: Perfect Philippines down Hong Kong to seal top spot

Hisor: Philippines advanced to Round 2 of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers with a 4-0 win over Hong Kong on Tuesday.

It was the Philippines' third win, having defeated Tajikistan 8-0 and Pakistan 4-0 earlier in the campaign. 
 
Pakistan, meanwhile, concluded their tournament with a 1-0 win over Tajikistan.

Qualifiers - Group F: Impressive Chinese Taipei beat Indonesia to book berth

Jounieh: Chinese Taipei defeated Indonesia 4-0 in their Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1 match on Saturday to advance to the next stage as the Group F winners. 

Chinese Taipei led from start to finish, scoring twice in each half to register their second consecutive win, having defeated Lebanon 5-1 in their opening game.

Australia, Korea Republic sizzle, defeats for China PR, Japan

London: Sam Kerr led Australia to a stunning 2-0 win over England while Lee Geum-min scored a hat-trick as Korea Republic defeated Zambia 5-0 in international women's friendlies on Tuesday.

China PR and Japan, however, suffered defeats to Spain and Denmark respectively in their buildup to the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.
