Japan's Naomichi Ueda joins Nimes on loan

Nimes: Japan international defender Naomichi Ueda has joined French side Nimes on loan until the end of the season from Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge.

The Ligue 1 side, who are currently in 18th place in the 20-team French top flight, have secured an option to buy the 26-year-old at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Education City and Ahmad Bin Ali stadiums to host FIFA Club World Cup 2020

Zurich: Following confirmation that, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and related quarantine measures required by the New Zealand authorities, Auckland City FC will be unable to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup 2020, FIFA has adapted the competition’s match schedule.

The competition format remains unchanged, with the opening match forfeited. The tournament will now be staged at Education City and Ahmad Bin Ali Stadiums, while Khalifa International Stadium, which was originally due to host two games, will not be used.

Kuwait City: A second half goal from Sameh Maraaba was enough for Palestine to defeat Kuwait 1-0 in an international friendly at Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium on Monday.

The match was the first official test for Kuwait's new head coach Andres Carrasco, who will see his team play another friendly on Wednesday against Iraq.
